ABOUT US
Riverwood Lodge has been the stud name for the breeding program run by the Bolger family for the past 15 years. Horses have been in the Bolger blood for many generations with Alex Bolger and Glen Bolger sharing a passion for standardbred horses. Jumping horses/ponies came through at pony club with a strong involvement at Orange Grove Horse and Pony Club helping run some of the first telervised jumping events in Western Australia.
Glen Bolger had a strong passion for the jumping horses competing around Australia and finishing his career aboard the lovely black stallion Sagamore Maestro (Mamiro) jumping at World Cup level. Maestro was then passed down to Caitlin who went on to win the Australian Junior Titles when held in Perth in 2005. Caitlin in the last 5 years has been the main force behind the breeding program with a passion for breeding her own top level jumping horses. Caitlin started out in the show horse arena winning the National Titles aboard Winbrook Impressions, and Rider titles at both the EA Nationals and Grand National events. In 2005 Caitlin went onto represent Australia at the Youth Olympics alongside Tom McDermott, Jess Brown and Olivia Hamood, and also Seoul 1* Event in South Korea.
Moving into jumping Caitlin has won Western Australia Junior athlete and Senior athlete of the year, Horse of the year with Caprino and many more state level accolades. Caitlin and Glen sourced and produced numerous World Cup level jumping horses including Danzastar (Danzero) and Oaks Vendetta (Vivant x Oaks Vedette) and now compete purely Riverwood Lodge bred horses.
It is a true honour to breed/produce and compete your own bred horse at the elite level. The long hours and thorough research into breeding matches comes to frutition in the arena.
We are proud of all the riders who have selected a Riverwood Lodge horse to be part of their team.
